Dear Cherry Hill Parents,
Welcome to Cherry Hill Elementary! I hope you have had a wonderful summer break. The
beginning of a new school year is always exciting! We have several new staff members,
new students and new experiences waiting for us. I have very high expectations for the
2017-2018 school year!
There are a few dates I want you to be aware of. The first day of school for
grades 1-6 is Tuesday, August 22nd. The first day of school for kindergarten and
Preschool is Tuesday, August 29th. We will be having our Back-to-School Open
House on Monday, August 21st, from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. This will be a good
opportunity to come and meet school staff, learn about upcoming programs, and
join our PTA! Please plan on joining us!
Our goal at Cherry Hill is to provide your child with a well-rounded educational
experience. Our expectations for student success are that all can learn and move
forward. We are here to help insure that this becomes a reality for the students that we
have been entrusted to care for.
Our Mission is, “At Cherry Hill Elementary we DREAM BIG, and find SUCCESS in
each one of us, some way, every day.” Our teachers and staff work diligently to help
our school recognize each student’s potential, reach for their dreams, and find success
every single day. We have amazing things happening at our school each and every
day. This is a school where ALL students can succeed and realize their dreams!
This year we are incorporating The Leader in Me habits into our culture. This
principle-based program focuses on Covey’s 7-Habits of Highly Effective People, and
incorporates those habits into the classrooms. This will give us a common language
we can use to reinforce collaboration and communication between peers, teachers,
and parents. We are so excited to see the ownership students can take of their own
learning and the difference it will make in continuing to build our positive culture at
I welcome you to come to my office and share concerns and celebrations. Together
we can work to accomplish what is best for children. I love working with our
students! Thank you for sharing their lives with me!
