The mission statement of the school counseling department is to foster a safe, equitable, and developmentally appropriate school climate that will facilitate the academic and social/emotional growth of students in order to be successful in their school career and life. The counselor will advocate for students for equal access and achievement for all students by working to remove barriers to learning and success. Students will explore their interests and abilities to help them connect learning with career and college readiness. Through the school counseling curriculum, students will be taught how to appreciate each other’s cultural backgrounds, cooperative learning, positive social behaviors, growth mindset and more. These lessons will help our school community have a positive bond that highlights teamwork, tolerance, and acceptance. Parents, teachers, administrators, counselors, and all school staff will work together to achieve our goal of student academic, social/emotional success, and college and career readiness.
